Hard-work, awards and a whole lot of fun

We have been looking forward for the summer for a while, and now that it’s here we’re ready to rest for a week or two and enjoy the nice weather. 

Although Summer is usually a slower season for many, we’ve been working hard for the past months and having a lot of fun while doing so, so today we’re sharing what we’ve been up to lately.  

Summer is here and with it, came our latest team retreat, so we packed our swimwear and headed to the pool. 

These are the moments we cherish the most as a remote team, as they serve as an opportunity to build deeper relationships and get to know each other a little bit better. 

Remote work is great to have a better work/life balance and that’s something we know we want to keep. At the same time, when the team doesn’t see each other every day, sometimes it may be harder to get to know them and that’s why we really love to see everyone having fun together. 

This time, we were able to dive in the pool, cook together and share some amazing experiences that for sure made us closer. Now it’s time to go back to work and start planning the next team outing. 

Back in May we received a Kudos award from the CSS Design Awards. We were very flattered and took this as yet another validation that hard-work definitely pays off. We actually received it for our own website, making it an even sweeter moment. 

According to them, our website got Kudos for its minimal look, its use of typography and its responsiveness. 

We already loved our website but now that we can brag about it, we love it even more! 

At Untile there’s never a dull moment and these past few months were no exception. 

First, we made a stop in Amsterdam for TNW - The Next Web. This was an amazing opportunity to see great products and be inspired by all the talent around us. We came back with some fresh ideas and we can’t wait to go back for next year’s edition. 

We were also invited to host a workshop on Design Thinking for Startup Braga’s Acceleration Program and to meet the participating teams. Then, we went back for the Program’s Demo Day where we got to witness the teams’ progress first hand by listening to their pitches. 

We always say yes to these initiatives because we think it’s deeply fulfilling to see the startup ecosystem alive and well with so many great and inspiring ideas. 

We proud ourselves of the close relationships we have within the team and also with clients, partners and advisors, so we were thrilled to have Sebastien Toupy, one of our advisors, paying us a visit. 

During his stay we were able to discuss some of the latest startup trends and where the global tech and innovation market is headed, while also showing him around our beautiful city. 

Conversations like these are very important for us as they allow us to listen to a different perspective and have great inputs from someone who has our best interest in mind. 

It was a pleasure to have Sebastien with us and we can’t wait for his next visit. 

We love doing these recaps and reliving some key moments from the last few months. As we said, we like to keep it fun around here while always pushing for excellence in everything we do. 

This said, you could actually come along on our next adventures. We’re happy to be growing the team and we’re looking for a Digital Product Designer that wants to join us in turning ideas into beautiful digital products.
