Untile is considered the best place to work in Portugal

The company won first place in the category of up to 50 employees

A historic and unique moment in the history of Untile. For the first time, we were elected first, within the category of up to 50 employees, the Great Place to Work in Portugal. In addition, we were the highlight of the night, winning the 2023 Social Revelation award due to the exceptional results obtained in the evaluation answered by the team.

This was our first participation and we left with a more than positive experience, but incredible, and that showed us that we are on the right track when it comes to delivering the best organizational climate for our team through numerous benefits, work-life balance, and personal and focus on their development.

Participating in and winning the Great Place to Work was a moment of reflection to understand where we are getting it right, what we can still do better, and where we can go much further. And we want to share that moment with you.

What is the Great Place to Work and how does it work?

Great Place to Work is a worldwide organization specializing in evaluating and recognizing companies that have a healthy, inclusive, and positive work environment. Its role in evaluating companies is fundamental since this evaluation can provide important insights into the organizational culture and work environment of a company, allowing it to improve and become an even more pleasant workplace for employees. 

The Great Place to Work Portugal assessment is based on two main sources of information: the organizational climate survey and the organizational culture analysis. An organizational climate survey is a diagnostic tool that allows for measuring the perception of employees on various aspects of the work environment, such as communication, leadership, and professional development, among others. The analysis of the organizational culture is carried out based on the analysis of documents and interviews with employees and leaders, seeking to understand the values, beliefs, and practices that guide the company's behavior.

In summary, Great Place to Work Portugal's role in evaluating companies is to provide a detailed and accurate analysis of the work environment, allowing companies to identify their strengths and opportunities for improvement. In addition, it promotes the recognition of companies that stand out in relation to the work environment, encouraging the continuous improvement of companies in Portugal.

Final results for GPTW from the Trust Index survey

Great Place to Work works through questionnaires made available to the company's employees, which range from the present organizational climate to the effectiveness of the leadership in question. In this way, it is possible to assess the internal reality and reward companies that have excellent results.

In the case of Untile, all collaborators, which were 27 at the time, responded and participated in the evaluation, delivering a perfect sample for GPTW and, consequently, delivering a result of 96% of the Trust Index. The main indicators analyzed were trust, five different dimensions ranging from credibility to camaraderie, strengths, and points to be improved, values, leadership effectiveness, innovation, and the expansion of human potential.

When it comes to Untile, we had surprising results, well above the expectations of the survey and above the global average among competitors in the category. In addition to the high Trust Index rate, we have a high rate in the aspects of Camaraderie and Respect, reaching 97 and 93 points respectively.

Still, when it comes to the values that we work internally and show to the market, it has shown its impact on the culture and on the role of leaders in front of their teams. That's because, regarding our values, the results showed that our employees believe in them and in how they are passed on through leadership. And as for leadership effectiveness, the results showed that we obtained almost 100 points in all categories, showing that we take these roles and their internal importance to teams seriously.

Finally, we were considered a company that is ready to innovate and we achieved an Accelerated IVR Velocity Ratio, that is, we are more than capable of adapting to a new reality and innovating in the face of it.

Therefore, through the results obtained and presented by Great Place to Work, it becomes even more noticeable why we occupied the highest place on the podium. We are one step ahead of the companies, showing that we are on the right path, and all of this has a backstage behind it that has led us to this moment. At the end of this process, we receive the GPTW certification seal.

The meaning of Untile in the first place

The results don't lie and we just proved it to you: we really are one of the best companies to work for in Portugal. The analysis carried out speaks for itself, but now it is necessary to understand: how did we manage to reach such high results in the face of so many organizations present?

It all starts with our benefits. Far beyond simple benefits such as food subsidy, for example. We always bear in mind that employees are a fundamental part of Untile and, therefore, they must have benefits that show that we care about them internally, but also about their lives outside of work.

For this reason, the geographical freedom and schedule that we make available to be used as they wish, extra vacation days, programs for the good of mental health, health plans, investment, plafond in professional development, are just some of the many examples of benefits that we offer to our team so that they can find a perfect balance between their life with us and their personal life.

In addition, we always try to create playful and socializing moments so that connection and closer ties are constant so that teamwork is put to the test and we improve more every day. Birthday and summer events, walks and runs, and moments to help the environment or institutions, are other opportunities for this fraternization to take place and for our connection to go beyond work.

That's why, here at Untile, we value our employees a lot, and not just for their work, but for their involvement in the company and teams as a whole, in the relationships we create, and how we want to develop and take this forward. For us, what matters in the end is the general good of the team and of each member who has his or her individuality and deserves specific attention.

The meaning of Untile in the first place

A result beyond expectations, that's for sure. And now, where will we go? There is only one answer to that: always forward together with our people.

For Untile, much more than simply deliver great results for the companies we work for. What really shines in our eyes is seeing an integrated and passionate team like ours, dedicating themselves to what they love, delivering great work and results, but also managing to enjoy the life that should be lived alongside those who love them.

So the idea now is to go further. Continuing our work, which has presented great and important moments for us, but always innovating and establishing a presence in the market. And all this will only be possible for our team that we know we can count on with our eyes closed.
